Facts about Brier
Brier is a city in Snohomish County that's bordered by Lynnwood to the north, Lake Forest Park to the south, Bothell to the east, and Mountlake Terrace to the west. In recent years, Brier has experienced an increase in population. The 2010 census confirmed a population of 6,087. By the time of the 2020 census, that population had grown to 6,497.
The first settlers in the area arrived in 1883, and established a strong logging industry. Mink farms began to gain a toehold in the local economy as logging faded. As the 20th century progressed, more people began to move into the area, and commute to nearby cities for work. Brier itself was incorporated as a city in 1965.
There remains a single commercial strip for the city, with a few businesses located within that area. Brier continues to be distinguished as a bedroom community, offering a number of residential lots with ample square footage for homes and for yards.
